LEXICON RARAMPAH IN BANJARNESE

Abstract

Rarampah (spices) is essential to be studied and documented in terms of its existance for the indigenous knowledge and application in modern era. At the same time, the spices has been proved used in fulfil human need physically and non-physically. This phenomenon can be observed from the using of spices lexicon in oral and written literature. The written literature about spices in Banjarnese related to the concept of local colour context. This study focused on how the roaming form in Banjarnese. The purpose of the study was to describe the roaming form of spices lexicon in Banjarnese. Decsritive qualitative method was applied ij this study. The data were utterances and literature information about spices in Banjarnese. There were five informants from local Banjarnese that consist of housewife, traditional medicare, researcher, and teachers. The data collection was conducted by doing an interviews, documentation, and observation studies. The location of the study was in Banjar Regency, Banjarbaru, and Banjarmasin on December 2021-Maret 2022. The result of the study showed that the lexicon of spices were found in utterances related to a dream, proverb, pantoon, clothes, folktale, satires, myths, advices, ritual, medication, and story. Consequently, the spices is not only used for cooking but also able to explore the information in literature, culture, and medicare.
